Background Story

In January 2020, Star Plus announced that Mahesh Pandey Productions would develop an official Hindi version of Star Vijay's Tamil series Pandian Stores, titled Khandaan.

Filming began in February 2020 with segments shot in Varanasi under the new title Hum– Ek Makaan Ek Dukaan, but was interrupted in March 2020 owing to the coronavirus outbreak.

The series was moved to Star Bharat after the lockdown. Because the channel's programming type shifted from drama to comedy, the show was cancelled and the plot was completely rewritten to fit the new format.

After a COVID break, filming began in July 2020, and the show premiered on 5 October 2020 as Gupta Brothers - Chaar Kunware From Ganga Kinaare, as a dramedy series to fit Star Bharat's comedy genre.

However, due to poor viewer response to Star Bharat's comedy genre, the channel was revamped again, and the show's genre was altered to drama, with the plot remaining faithful to that of the original Pandian Stores, and the show was renamed Gupta Brothers.

Star Plus stated in December 2020 that Pandya Store, a Hindi television version of Pandian Stores created by Sphere Origins, would launch on January 25, 2021.

With the premiere of Pandian Stores, the first official Hindi television version Gupta Brothers was confirmed to be cancelled on February 5th. Gupta Brothers, on the other hand, abruptly ceased broadcasting on January 26, a day ahead of schedule.

In January 2021, Deven Bhojani was engaged as the series' creative consultant.

It took a ten-year generation leap on March 5, 2021.

Who Cast

The show's primary characters are Kanwar Dhillon and Alice Kaushik. Their supporters refer to them as "ShiVi" since they play Shiva and Raavi, respectively.

Kanwar Dhillon, Alice Kaushik, Akshay Kharodia, and Mohit Parmar were cast as older versions of Shiva, Raavi, Dev, and Krish, respectively, in March 2021, while Simran Budharup was cast as Rishita.

Shooting Place

The series is set in Gujarat's Somnath and is primarily shot in Mumbai's Film City. Aside from that, several early sequences were shot in Rajasthan's Somnath and Bikaner.

On February 20, 2021, a large fire broke out on the set of the series, destroying some of the set, costumes, and shoot material.

Due to an upsurge in Covid instances, Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray, announced a surprise curfew on April 13, 2021, and production in Mumbai was halted on April 14, 2021.

As a result, the series' production was temporarily relocated to the Gajner Palace in Bikaner.

1st Episode

Shiny Doshi and Kinshuk Mahajan star in the series' debut trailer, which was published on December 26, 2020.
